Wokha, July 28 (MExN): A literary competition on the theme "Plastic Free Nagaland" was organized by Wokha Police Department on July 27 under the mentorship of Manoj Kumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Wokha. Edward Ngullie, Headmaster, Unit School in a press release stated the competition was organized for the children of police personnel studying in different schools in the district.

 


In his keynote address, Kumar advocated for a beautiful and plastic-free Police Reserve and urged the participating students to be an ambassador for a plastic-free environment.

 


Imkongsangba Jamir SDPO Wokha, welcomed the participants and highlighted the concept and purpose of the competition. The competition was held on Debate, Essay and Painting.

 


In Debate, the 1st position was awarded to Mharoni Mozhui (Regimental School), 2nd - Mercy M Tsopoe (Regimental School) and 3rd – Lochumbeni C Odyuo (Regimental School).

 


In Essay, 1st position was secured by Thechano Ezung (Santsuo School), 2nd - Epilo M Ngullie (Regimental School) and Thungjanbeni (Cistus School), 3rd - Zadeno Z Ngullie (DBHSS) and Nzanbeni M Kikon (Regimental School). In Painting, 1st was won by Nongo A Odyuo (Regimental School), 2nd – Lithungo Humtsoe (Regimental School) and 3rd – Lasthung (Regimental School).

 


The release mentioned that this was the third activity initiated by the IPS for a plastic free environment within the Police Reserve line. Putting up banners and signpost, organizing one day workshop in paper bag making were other activities held. Khriete Thepru, OC Wokha, UBSI, Anito, NK Renbi, and Edward Ngullie (Headmaster, Unit School) were the Judges for the Competition. Earlier, Lichumi Ngullie anchored the programme. Altogether 51 students participated in the competition.
