Wokha SAATHI Chatbot wins Gold at National Awards for e-Governance

WOKHA, JULY 11 (MExN): The Wokha SAATHI (Smart AI-based Assistant for Timely Help & Interface) WhatsApp Chatbot, an initiative by the Government of Nagaland, has been awarded the Gold Award under the category ‘District Level Initiatives in E-Governance’ for the National Awards for e-Governance 2023-2024. 

The award recognizes the innovative use of technology to improve governance and public service delivery. The project will receive a trophy, a certificate, and a cash award of Rs. 10 lakh for the Department/Organization/Institution. Additionally, each team member, including the Project Head, will receive a certificate. 

Sarita Taneja, Deputy Secretary to the Government of India, wrote a letter to the Wokha DC emphasising the importance of such initiatives in driving forward the e-Governance agenda. "Projects like Wokha SAATHI are critical in demonstrating how technology can bridge gaps in public service delivery and enhance the overall governance framework," Taneja stated. 

The awards will be conferred during the 27th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG), scheduled to be held on August 8 and 9 at NSCI Dome, Worli, Mumbai. The Wokha SAATHI team has been invited to attend the conference and present their project. The project team will also set up a stall to exhibit the awarded project during the event, showcasing their innovative approach to e-Governance.
