Wokha, April 7 (MExN): The office of the Superintendent of Police, Wokha, has issued a notification enforcing mandatory provisions under Sections 6, 8, 9, and 10 of the Immigration & Foreigners Act, 2025, directing strict adherence to registration and reporting requirements for foreigners arriving in the district.
As per the notification, the SP office has been designated as the Registration Office for the district.
All foreigners must register with the Foreigner Registration Officer upon arrival, the notification stated.
Under the order, keepers of accommodation are required to submit prescribed information regarding foreign guests, while universities, educational institutions and other admitting bodies must furnish details of foreign students enrolled with them.
Hospitals, nursing homes, and medical institutions providing medical or lodging facilities have also been mandated to report information about foreigners in the prescribed manner.
Accommodation owners have been specifically directed to submit Form-III (Form-C) within 24 hours of a foreign guest's check-in, with mandatory reporting also required upon check-out. The process is to be completed digitally via the e-FRRO system, though physical forms may be submitted in the event that online services are unavailable.
The SP office stated that the measures are being enforced in the interest of public order, security, and compliance with national regulations.
All stakeholders, including accommodation providers, institutions, and medical facilities, have been urged to strictly follow the provisions without exception.
