DIMAPUR, JUNE 11 (MExN): ACAUT Wokha unit, GBs, VDB members and frontal organizations of Wokha district on Saturday reaffirmed the October 31, 2013 Naga public rally resolution of ‘One government, one taxation.’
The resolve, one among many, was decided during a coordination meeting held at the Lotha Tribal Council Hall, Wokha after deliberating on the issues of demands and summon by Naga Political Groups (NPGs), upholding truth, honesty and dedication by every leader irrespective of village, occupation while in the service of the people etc.
Informing this, Media Cell, ACAUT Wokha unit said the coordination meeting also resolved that no public/village leader would be made to be summoned anywhere, anytime by any NPG/individual without the knowledge of the ACAUT.
The house also resolved that if any problem/ hassle (s) is created by any individual/ NPG, the matter shall be dealt seriously with the person concerned at personal/ individual level.
Further, if any Head of Department (HoD) or any VDB secretary is found paying tax to any NPG, the individual concerned shall be held fully responsible and for which an FIR shall be immediately filed.
The house also resolved that if any village leader/ACAUT leader is summoned or arrested, the whole Lotha community shall move in solidarity to be with the village or the individual.
While noting that some VDB secretaries were paying taxes to the NPGs against the wishes of the Naga people, ACAUT Wokha unit endorsed the matter to the Wokha District VDB Association to verify and submit the result to the ACAUT Wokha unit within seven days.
ACAUT Nagaland co-convener Joel Nillo, who was also present at the meeting observed that Wokha is the only district in Nagaland where all the frontal organizations are united as one on the issue of one government, one tax; corruption, unabated taxation.
He espoused hope that the others tribes and districts of Nagaland will take it as an example for Nagaland to grow.
