Dimapur, March 31 (MExN): The VDB secretaries Union of Sanis RD Block Wokha held a meeting on March 25, 2011 at its block office with the new BDO. The meeting was held to review the different programmes and schemes under Rural Development for the betterment and development of the block. It also held a technical session on various schemes. A press note issued by Rhonathung Kikon, president VDB secretaries, Union RD Block Sanis, Wokha informed that the project director DRDA Wokha Hello Semp, highlighted the different schemes and programmes which is being implemented by the department of Rural Development. The meeting was chaired by Repanungsang Ao, BDO RD Block Sanis. Altogether, 22 villages under Sanis block attended the meeting.
The meeting also passed the following resolution for smooth functioning, transparency and accountability within its Block: to work actively, sincerely and united for the development of village, to prevent political interference in selecting beneficiaries, revolved to resist unnecessary donation/extortion from different quarters both in the Block and VDB levels, to maintain transparency and accountability at all levels, that all disputes and mishandling of RD funds shall be settled by the village councils itself, that any complaints against VDB should be made through village councils. Meanwhile, the union seeks full corporation from NGOs and parties while implementing the various schemes and programmes under its block.
