WOKHA: WDLSA with WDEA organise legal literacy prog

WOKHA, March 24 (MExN): The Wokha District Legal Services Authority (WDLSA) in collaboration with Wokha District Entrepreneur Association (WDEA) organized a one-day legal literacy programme on Consumer Rights and MACT cases and Criminal Procedure law at DC conference hall, Wokha on March 22.  

The programme began with keynote address by Seyielenuo Mezhu, JMFC and Secretary WDLSA. She briefly enlightened the participants about the objectives of the programme and how it benefits the common people as consumers.  

Renbonthung Tsanglao, Panel Lawyer WDLSA and Yanpo Ezung, Assistant Professor, Sociology at BBC Wokha also spoke on Consumer Rights based on the Consumer Protection Act 1986 and consumer awareness respectively.  

Team Metamorphosis Chief, Thungdemo Kyong shared the roles and objectives of Team Metamorphosis and its success story in brief.  

President, All Nagaland Taxi Union Association Wokha Unit, Hayithung Odyuo also apprised on the rights of passengers, pertaining to filing complaints against problem caused by driver.  

Post Master DK Singh enlightened the participants on various Post Office schemes for consumers and to be vigilant of those schemes.  

Education and Statistical Secretary WDEA, Zaren Murry spoke on various responsibilities of an entrepreneur in different social environment and to be customer friendly entrepreneur.  

MA Lotha, Panel Lawyer WDLSA explained in details about Motor Accident Claim Tribunal (MACT) procedures and rules under law. David Ezung, Panel Lawyer WDLSA spoke on Criminal Procedural laws and role of WDLSA. M Gracy Ezung, Retainer Lawyer WDLSA delivered vote of thanks.
