
DIMAPUR, JUNE 13 (MExN): A woman was found brutally murdered early June 13 morning at Walford Colony in Dimapur, Nagaland, in what police suspect was a case of domestic violence involving a sharp weapon.
According to preliminary reports, the woman — a mother of five and believed to be in her forties — was allegedly hacked to death with a dao, a traditional machete-like weapon. Her body was discovered in the early hours of the morning, and police were informed around 5:15 a.m.
The victim’s husband, also in his forties, has been taken into police custody as the prime suspect. The incident is believed to have occurred around midnight.
As of the filing of this report, authorities have not issued an official statement or provided additional details on the investigation. The motive behind the alleged murder remains unclear.
