
Kohima, September 15 (DIRP): The Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Meeting for the month of September was held at DPDB’s Conference Hall on September 15 chaired by ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi.
In a presentation from the State Resource Centre for Women, Lanuienla Imchen, Helpline Manager Women Helpline 181 Nagaland, highlighted the modalities of the scheme; its targeted group; Monitoring Mechanisms and Departments converged with the WHI.
She informed that 181 Women Helpline Nagaland was recently launched by the Governor of Nagaland and the Helpline Centre is located at the premises of the Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB) Office below DIPR Citadel, New Secretariat Complex, Kohima. In her presentation, she informed that since the launching of the Helpline on June 23, 2016, the Centre has received 14,535 calls till date; 100-150 calls a day; 44 cases recorded in the Centre; six critical cases of domestic violence, one rape case, two cases of obscene calls and many other cases of guidance, counseling and inquiry.
SDO (C) Sadar, Kethosituo Sekhose presented a report on the Kohima DPDB Village/Wards Adoption Committee to be submitted to Government for approval of introducing the Village/Ward adoption system in other district of the State. In his presentation, he highlighted the analysis and ways forward; revitalized and re-christened; tasks of Committees; advantages/benefits to public; benefits to DPDB & Departments; some unique achievements; stages in implementing the programme; problems and hurdles and suggestions and ways forward to which, the House decided to approve for onward submission to the Government for further necessary action.
The meeting discussed the following agenda and decided to approve for change of St. John’s School, Merhulietsa to St. John’s School Kohima, Merhülietsa. The House also approved the following societies for new registration: Sustainable Development Research Centre, Lerie, Chazou, Kohima; Phom Students Union Kohima Old Ministers Hill, Kohima and S4 Future Society, Chiechama Village.
On the agenda of yearlong activities for next year, ADC Planning, KetohoLuho proposed on the constitution of Core Committee; Ward Adoption Committee; Verification Committee on LADP/MPLADS and Screening Committee for School issues where the house decided to approve the matter.
In the meeting, the Adoption Committees of various Villages/Wards also gave a report on the activities carried out in their respective adopted villages and wards. ADC Lithrongla appreciated on their activities undertaken till date and further requested them to expedite their upcoming activities and complete it within the time frame. Labour Department and ‘Energy Efficient Kohima’ were entrusted to present its activities in the next DPDB meeting.
