Women leaders empowered towards social co-existence in Wokha Town

Wokha, November 18 (MExN): One-day training program on skills in peace building was held for women leaders at Women Association Conference Hall, Wokha on November 16.  

During the programme, Vincent Kikon, Peace Channel, District Coordinator, Wokha, in his keynote address talked about visioning a harmonious society by transforming oneself from all variations. Kikon encouraged the mothers to take effective initiative in building and spreading peace in the society and noted the leaders to come out of their comfort zone and work for a better society without any differences.  

T Lanusenla Longkumer, SDO (C), Wokha spoke on the challenges and responsibilities of being a mother and a leader where they have to balance the different ways of life for the family in particular and the society in general. Longkumer opined that peace comes from within as such to work for peace in the society.  

The resource person, Lawrence, Peace Activists in his session on skill in peace building presented on positive responsibilities as leaders, selfless attitude, communication skills, cooperation, team work and tolerance. After collecting the different opinions of bringing peace from different representative the resource person explained the core concept of attaining positive peace which he said, “every activity involved in our life is unavoidable but if we can balance them constructively despite of all negative aspects, one can co-exist with each another in spite of differences.” He further complimented that peace is a process and it should continuously follow up its process without which it has high chance of conflict and violence in the society.
