DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 1 (MExN): A consultation meeting was convened today by the Joint Action Committee on Women Reservation (JACWR) comprising of representatives of the NMA, ENWO, Watsu Mungdang, NWHD with women leaders from different political parties. The meeting was chaired by Convenor JACWR, Mrs.Abei-u Meru President NMA. Serious deliberation was held on the issue of women Reservation in Municipalities and Town Councils in Nagaland. All the women Political Leaders were unanimous in their full support of 33% women Reservation as per the Nagaland Municipal Amendment Act 2006.The members present resolved to work with commitment towards women empowerment in the greater interest of Naga women, irrespective of party affiliations. This was informed in a press note issued by the Joint Action Committee on Women Reservation.
