Kohima, April 13 (MExN): A felicitation programme was held in honour of Minister, Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse at the Directorate of Women Resource Development, Bayavu, Kohima on April 12.
A DIPR report stated that speaking during the programme, Salhoutuonuo Kruse mentioned that she was honoured to have been bestowed with the responsibility of Minister in-charge of Women Resource Development & Horticulture.
Recalling, how the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio created the Department during 2003-04, specifically with the aim to work towards the socio-economic uplift and development of women of Nagaland, she opined that the vision of the CM shall be carried forward with more interventions and innovations. She further said that she is elated to work with the officers and staff of the department and hoped that, together, and with hard work and dedication, bigger things shall be achieved.
Commissioner & Secretary, WRD, Anenla T Sato, IAS, in her welcome address, congratulated the Minister for her resounding success during the election and for also becoming the first woman to be elected and appointed as Minister in Nagaland. She also stated that the department has the special highlight in the form of having the “rarest opportunity of being a women-led department” to bring about changes and good name. She expressed hope that under the able and dynamic leadership of the Minister, greater heights will be achieved.
