Dimapur, June 14 (DIPR): The Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBES) Women department, in a joint programme with the Niro Range Baptist Churches Women Department, comprising of seven villages, conducted one day women seminar at Niroyo Baptist Church on June 13.
Women Secretary, LBES, Meribeni Ngullie speaking on the topic ‘past and present status of women’ stated that the women department has already covered eleven ranges/areas with the same programme, in the last six months. The purpose of the seminar is to encourage the womenfolk to come out of the shadow of the past and strive ahead, keeping in tune with the changing times in order to uplift oneself and the society as a whole, she said.
Women Evangelist, LBES, Lanvano Kithan spoke on ‘contribution, support, coordination and administrative role of women in the church’. She stated that for the progress of the church and God’s kingdom, the role and responsibilities of women are increasing day by day, and therefore maintained that living a responsive life is the need of the time.
APRO Bhandari, Lily J. Kikon who spoke on ‘economic empowerment and well-being of a woman’ observed that the two are essential and are dependent on one another for a woman to live a quality life and also to contribute for a progressive and healthy society. Even the quality of a society is shaped by the family, where a woman does not fail to channelize her priority despite the other binding responsibilities in life, she added.
