Our moral and societal decay are because of our indifference to others’ suffering, others’ rights, unwilling to respect the other person, refusal to understand the truth and lack of courage to face the reality. When civil society loses the bond of morality, human values loses its power over the evils of the day. We need to rethink on how to live. The survival of a society depends on the ability of men and women to work together and live together respecting each other gender. Any social system that hurts an honest citizen is antiquated and need to be re-accessed and changed. Sensing the condition and plight of women in the current society, it is pertinent to consider, understand and actualize change needed to uplift the status of women into the natural dignity of human person at par with men as designed by the Creator. To do this we need to know the divine purpose of womankind. Human society shaped by patriarchal system of family is found to be defective and contradicts the purpose of God in creating human world. Subsequently, woman has been conditioned under man-made prison or chains since ages past influenced by the patriarchal structural defects. Today women condition remains under bondage of the system. The chains of control need to be liberated. Women must awake, organise and educate themselves. Women must realize who and what causes their bondage condition. To better understand the position of women, it is noteworthy to consider the statement of Mahatma Gandhi “Woman is the companion of man gifted with equal mental capacities. She has the right to participate in the minutest details of the activities of man, and she has the same right to freedom and liberty as man”.
Womankind has been placed under subjection to mankind by man-made patriarchal system of society since the beginning of human generation. Believe that, it is not God’s design or default that the patriarchal structural system have turned into a discriminative or oppressive social system. Perceives that it is man’s creation to suit his selfish gratification against the creator’s designed and purpose. Man justifies his own action to be right deposing God’s purpose. Women were created to be a complement part of men to meet the need of him as helpmeet. The truth is that, men and women were created as a perfect and beautiful being together until the fallen. After the fallen, doubt, pride, hatred, fault-finding, and greed entered into the perfect being and derailed the nature resulting wrongs and defects in the world. Human sense of reasoning have been limited and distorted and so confusion permeates the human minds. Human reasoning and power of discernment have been greatly distorted and weakened by sins and thereby human minds are being wrongly influenced to accept the wrongs as rights. For centuries, men have been trying to walk with only one leg or do work with only one hand which could have been the defects of the world today. Women and men must both shoulder the responsibility of building the human society and both must be responsible for the good or bad of the society.
Therefore, humanity needs a renewed mentality to recreate our world into a humane world. Realization of this truth is the remedy of the wrong world created by mankind (men & women) This sin-sequential world need to be enlightened, changed and redeemed through the power of God in man, for which men and women are being empowered to love, care and serve each other in the true spirit of humanity exemplified in the life of Jesus and many prophets and saviours of the world. Today it is the moral duty of every men and women to realize and actualize the truth that men and women are equally human being made for each other. The other is no lesser then the other. No greater or lesser responsibility is given to either men or women. However the roles are being designed for both the genders for the purpose of making the perfect whole being and wellbeing of humanity. It is the corrupted minds that tend to think the other way that men are higher in status then women. Human tendency to justify himself for his wrong doing is not God’s intention for men neither women tendency to think that they are subjected to men is God’s designed nature but men’s temperament. Concerns, that men will resist this truth though undeniable and continue to rule women or refuse to accept the urging change moving in them to understand women because of the dominating thought or embedded pattern of thinking culture of men. The pattern of men’s thinking is so bounded by customs and culture inherited from the ages past. It is neither the intended wish nor the prayer of men to rule over women always but men are being accustomed by culture and traditions of the past human society that have fashioned their mentality and compelled them to think and act inadvertently. Men generally apprehends that, when men act or think contrary to the man-made fashioned or social norms, then he will be considered anti-social. For that matter, the condition of men is bounded to be silent about women’s position or conditioned to defend themselves for their action against their conscience. However the truth of women being is recognised and honour by men to some extend. In fact it is men who should protect, and care for women because they are weaker being and that they are part of men. Without them humanity will never progress or prosper. Moreover, sense of humanity is made complete by women’s role in the human society.
Women being and her condition in the contemporary society need to be changed or transformed. If civic society is to be created and realized, and humane world is to be visualized, the status of women has to be restored to the original plan purpose of God in creating women. It is perceived that men tend to apprehends women, thinking that when women rights and conditions are elevated, they may over rule men. Such notions are born of ignorance and arrogance attitude. The truth is that men and their burden or responsibility will be lightened and humanity will be heightened.
The gone society with all its defects and defaults must need be forgotten and create a new society where humanity will live with sense of dignity and respect of each other persons’ status, interest and personality. To bring about such a society, it is the role and obligation of every citizen both of men and women, rich and poor alike to participate in changing the present social and cultural norm through mass renaissance, individual and collective reformation to take place in our society. Change of attitude and mindsets about gender inequality, dominant spirit and ruthlessness must be initiated in every heart, life and place. This change appeal is made open to the people for united support toward building a humane society; valuing life, principle and human obligation to do good to each other without bearing any sort of discrimination, bias or hatred, greed or gain but in the spirit of humanity.
