Women’s Cricket U19: Nagaland ‘bats’ Meghalaya for two consecutive wins

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): On a winning streak, the Nagaland Under-19 Women’s Cricket Team secured their second consecutive wins today by defeating Meghalaya at the ongoing Under 19 One Day League and Knockout (2018-19) Dehradun.


The team’s second win was more emphatic as it defeated Meghalaya by a huge margin of 140 runs.


Earlier, Nagaland captain Sentilemla won the toss and decided to bat and the team put up a formidable 211 runs for 7 in 50 over.


Antima Teotia unbeaten 100 runs was the pick of the day, while Skipper Sentilemla amply aided her with 37 runs. For Meghalaya, Deophi and Dasan took 2 wickets each


In reply, Nagaland scalped Meghalaya for mere 71 runs and the match ended with over 68 balls to spare.


Sapna took 4 wickets for Nagaland while Sariba and Elina took 2 each.


Nagaland will play their next match against Sikkim on February 14.


At the team’s first outing in February 10, Nagaland defeated Arunachal Pradesh by 10 runs at the Tanush Academy Ground, Dehradun (Uttarakhand).


U-23 Men’s: Bihar defeat Nagaland


However, the first outing of the Nagaland’s U-23 Men’s team was not successful as they were defeated by Bihar in the first match by 5 wickets.
The BCCI U-23 Men’s tournament for Plate Group was played at Bhubaneswar, Odisha on February 13.

Nagaland will play Meghalaya next on February 15.
