Dignitaries and others during International Women's Day at Chetheba.
Kohima, March 8 (MExN): The District Administration and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Phek in collaboration with Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) and Sakhi One Stop Centre celebrated International Women’s Day today at Chetheba Town Council Hall on the theme “Invest in women’s right: Accelerate progress.”
The programme was chaired by Vilenuo K Thisa District Mission Coordinator, DHEW, Phek. Cthitu Nienu (NCS) EAC- Chetheba was the guest speaker. The celebration also witnessed by special appearance by Nusakholu and Novolu (Tati) and cultural troupe, Chetheba.
Senovielhou Koza, Block Program Manager (BMMU) Chetheba, Phek spoke on Women Empowerment through SHGs. Women Centric Schemes and Roles of DHEW was shared by Veposelu Naroh, Gender Specialist, DHEW Phek.
Metsheu Divina Therie, Case Worker, Sakhi-One Stop Centre Phek spoke on women and child rights. Jitsiasa Nyusou Centre Administrator, Sakhi-One Stop Centre spoke on SAKHI-OSC and its Services, Security and Safety of Women. Flower show competition was held in two categories i.e. orchids and seasonal flower. Sanitary napkins were also distributed to the girls and women. Altogether around 140 people attended the programme.
