Women’s U-19 ODI Trophy: Nagaland lose to Sikkim

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 3 (MExN): The Nagaland U-19 women’s team lost to Sikkim at the Women’s U-19 One Day Trophy on October 3. 

Winning the toss first, Nagaland elected to filed first, restricting Sikkim to 143 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. 

Nandita and Pranita were Sikkim’s top scorers with 33 and 32 runs respectively. Nur contributed with 16 runs while Pretika scored 15 runs for Sikkim. 

For Nagaland, Bipila scalped 3 wickets and Priyanka took 2 wickets. Watinaro, Soyimkumla and Pausamyile also hauled a wicket each. 

In the second innings, Nagaland were bowled out for just 91 runs in 38.3 overs. 

Diksha was the top performing bowler for Sikkim with 3 wickets, while Nur and also Leeza claimed 2 wickets each.

Iluneule Zeliang was Nagaland’s top scorer with 25 runs followed by Priyanka and Watinaro with 19 and 13 runs each. 

The Nagaland team will play their last match against Manipur on October 4 at Railway Stadium, Bhubaneswar.

Meanwhile, the Nagaland Men's U-19 will also play against Arunachal on October 4 at MECON Stadium, Ranchi.
