As the winter season sets in Dimapur, major road repairs are set to begin, with work on the Dillai Gate-Dhobinalla-Golaghat stretch of National Highway (NH)-36 scheduled to resume this week.
An update from PWD (NH) SDO Akumdong Walling stated that the department has already begun repairs on several sections of the Dimapur-Chümoukedima four-lane highway (NH-29). These repairs will include both major and minor works along the stretch up to Patkai Bridge.
Further, the unfinished construction of the NH-36 stretch from Dillai Gate to the Hotel Tragopan junction on the Golaghat road is expected to resume this week, he said. Nagami Infratech Pvt Ltd has been awarded the contract to carry out the work.
In the first phase, Walling added, the stretch up to Dhobinalla junction has been blacktopped. When work resumes, an additional layer of coating will be applied along this stretch.
