Work like one man army to make Nagaland green: Imkong L Imchen

Minister for Environment, Forests & Climate Change Imkong L. Imchen today challenged the staff of the department to work like one man army to make Nagaland green.  

“You should work like one man army. Instead of depending others, please think that if I don’t work who will work,” he said this during the executive staff meeting of the environment, forests & climate change department here.  

Imchen maintained that with such ambiance put into place, the performance of the staff will be automatic and their efficiency will be automatic.  

He added that if they decided to work like one man army then turning Nagaland into exemplary green field will be the easiest task and the offshoot of their hard labour will be good for biological system, good for posterity, climatic condition and eco system.  

Imchen said efforts of the staff would definitely make Nagaland difference and derive maximum benefit to the populace.  

He said the department is going to issue notification on “Do” and “Don’t” almost every week.  

“Let us deliver good service to our people” he told the staff and further urged upon them to extend their efficiency, complete loyalty and allegiance in the service delivery system.  

Also touching on the policy and programme of the department, he stressed on the need to set the target to deliver goods to the people.  

He regarded the department as one family looking at the same objective and the same target, for which all staff starting from PCCF down to the Grade IV should work together as a team.  

Imchen also wanted to see successful and hindrance free atmosphere towards the implementation of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) project for Nagaland forest management.  

The JICA-assisted Project aims to improve forest ecosystem and support income generation by rehabilitation of Jhum Cultivation (traditional slash and burn practice) area and provision of livelihood support, thereby contributing to sustainable forest and environmental conservation and livelihood improvement in the target villages in the state of Nagaland.
