Kohima, November 7 (MExN): One day workshop on Food Licensing and Registration System (FLRS) and Foscoris was held on November 7 at Conference Hall, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare. 


Partha Das Mohapatra, Deputy Director FSSAI, North East Region, Guwahati while addressing the Designated Officers, Food Safety present, expressed enthusiasm on the initiation from the state officials in introducing the online registration and licensing system in Nagaland.


As per DIPR report, Mohapatra added that with the induction of online system in Nagaland, the whole country will be digitalized with one live portal and there will be a common platform across the country. 


Dr Akuo Sorhie, Joint Director and State Program Officer, Food Safety DHFW mentioned it was a historic moment for Nagaland state to introduce the much awaited online registration system; with which the state will also join the rest of the country in one portal.


She added that after the workshop, Nagaland will also start with the online registration and licensing in a phase wise manner starting from the districts of Kohima, Mokokchung and Dimapur, which till date Nagaland is the only State which has not undertaken this process. 


Sendongkaba Jamir, Assistant Food Safety Commissioner, DH&FW also expressed hope for fruitful workshop, while delivering vote of thanks. 


The Designated Officers, Food Safety present will be trained on online Food Licensing and Registration System (FLRS) and Food Safety Compliance through regular Inspection and Sampling by  Partha Das Mohapatra, Deputy Director FSSAI and  Kaushik Kalita, IT Manager FSSAI, North Eastern Rigion, Guwahati, Assam. This will be further implemented in the districts, the report added.
