Workshop held for students to create interest in journalism

Dimapur, May 17 (MExN): Two-day journalism workshop titled ‘Journalism for Social Action’ was conducted at Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur.  

Rev. Fr. Jonas Kerketta, a research scholar of Assam Don Bosco University, imparted to the participants innovative ideas on journalism.  

The purpose of the workshop, attended by 48 students, was to create interest in journalism among the students, according to a press release received here.  

Fr. Jonas, while addressing the students said, “Today we need more and more courageous men and women to take up the challenge of creating awareness and inseminating truth in the society.” Referring to the Bible, he said, “For Zion sake I will not keep silent” (Is 62:1). He further stressed on the need for speaking up for the society.  

The participants were divided into 6 groups for practical work. They were to bring out a newsletter consisting of varied articles.
