Zunheboto, July 4 (MExN): The District Healthy Society, Zunheboto supported by World Health Organisation (WHO) organised a one day district planning workshop for Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign on July 3.
In his keynote address, Dr. CW Tungoe, Chief Medical Officer, Zunheboto briefed about the objectives of the workshop. He encouraged the health workers to work hand in hand with other allied departments. The health workers were also encouraged to work with dedication and sincerity for the upcoming MR vaccination campaign.
A press release from Shekho Sophie, Media Officer, CMO office, Zunheboto further informed that Dr. Shankar Reddy, RRT (WHO) enlightened the participants on country MR update, elimination strategies and basic strategies operational plans for Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign. He also stressed on the Micro Planning, recording, reporting and monitoring tools. Dr. Reddy further highlighted about the rollout plan with timelines and other guidelines.
Dr. Alemwabang Aier, DPO (RCH & UIP), briefed about the AEFI treatment/management during MR campaign. He also stressed on organising vaccination sites, including injection safety and waste management during the campaign.
Dr. Mulusato Keyho, MO I/c Asuto PHC highlighted about the school micro planning for the campaign.
Shekho Sophie, the Media Officer spoke on the objectives of the MR communication plan. He briefed about the importance of advocacy with the stakeholders and social mobilization, and also stressed on capacity building of health workers.
The training was attended by Medical Officers, BPMs, ASHA coordinators and IEC bureau.
