Wokha, October 30 (MExN): A 4-day workshop on bird watching was held at Wokha by Bird Count India (BCI) in collaboration with the Wokha Forest Division and the Wokha Divisional Management Unit (DMU), NFMP from October 19 to 22.
The workshop started on October 19 with an indoor session where Tomal Gogoi, Field Coordinator, BCI, presented on the important aspects of bird watching. This was followed by field sessions on the following days where the participants visited different locations for hands-on birding sessions.
Over 40 participants were part of the workshop and were also taught on field note-making and how to use eBird app and the Merlin app which are useful tools for people interested in birding.
Pocket Guides on Birds of Northeast were also distributed to the participants. In total, 42 species of birds were sighted during the birding sessions, informed a press release on Sunday.
