Tening, October 3 (MExN): In a collaborative effort between the District Administration of Tening and Grassroots Empowerment, Nagaland, a one-day workshop on Naga jewellery making was conducted on September 30.
The workshop was organized as part of the Skill Development initiative under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, 2023, and had the theme ‘Rooted and Self-Reliant’ a DIPR report stated.
The workshop aimed to empower and skill 40 young women from Tening Sub-Division who had shown keen interest in Naga jewellery making. These women had previously undergone training and were organized into Self Help Groups. The goal is for them to utilize their creative ideas and skills in Naga Jewellery Making, fostering self-reliance, DIPR stated.
“This initiative not only contributes to skill development but also promotes economic independence among young women, aligning with the overarching goal of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign,” it added.
