Kohima, September 11 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) in collaboration with the Kohima District Administration will be organizing a workshop on National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) with reference to the state capital Kohima on September 12 at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The NCAP is a Government of India initiative launched in 2019 with the goal of reducing air pollution in India. It focuses on improving air quality in 131 non-attainment cities by targeting a reduction in Particulate Matter (PM10) concentrations. Nagaland’s Kohima and Dimapur are included in the list of non-attainment cities, stated an update received here.
KPC said that the workshop is being organized under NCAP’s action point on deeper public engagement and consultation with stakeholders. The Kohima District Administration has been engaging with different stakeholders through lectures, competitions and awareness programmes in the last few years. This year, the District Administration is engaging with the media through the KPC.
The workshop is also being put together as collaboration between the Kohima District Administration and the KPC as part of the yearlong observation of the 25th Anniversary of the Kohima Press Club which is scheduled to culminate on January 20, 2026 with a celebration.
