Resource persons, PwDs, parents, church leaders and officials of different departments during the workshop on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act 2016 organized by the KBCA in collaboration with NSDF on July 7 at Noklak.

DIMAPUR, July 8 (MExN): The Khiamniungan Baptist Churches Association (KBCA) in collaboration with Nagaland State Disability Forum (NSDF) organised a workshop on the ‘Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act 2016’ on July 7 at KBCA conference hall, Noklak. The program was supported by the State Commissioner for Person with Disabilities (SCPD) office, Nagaland.
According to a press release, at the workshop, resource persons, Vikengunu Fatima Kera, President, Nagaland State Disability Forum and Ashe H Kiba, Program Coordinator, SCPD highlighted on some important aspects of PwDs.
While the former shared on the aims and objectives of NSDF and scenarios of PwDs in Nagaland, the latter focussed on understanding the rights and etiquettes of PwDs. The resource persons also encouraged the churches, administration and the people in the community to extend support towards the welfare of PwDs.
A short sharing on ‘Voice of PwDs’ was shared by M Heno, President, PwDs Union, Noklak and a special number was presented by Sangchiu.
During the program, short speeches were also delivered by Arikumba, NCS, DC Noklak; Dr Victor, CMO cum MS, District Hospital, Noklak and Hemping, CDPO, Social Welfare Department.
A total number of 63 participated at the program which included PwDs, parents, church leaders and officials from different departments.
