Workshop on ‘Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility’ as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 held at Lumami on October 28.
Lumami, October 28 (MExN): The Department of Sociology at Nagaland University, in collaboration with the Central Vigilance Commission of India, organised a one-day workshop on ‘Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility’ as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 at Lumami on October 28.
The workshop, chaired by Prof Athungo Ovung of the Department of Sociology, began with a welcome address emphasizing the importance of integrity and transparency in entrepreneurship. Dr Sandeep Gupta, Convenor of the workshop, outlined the programme’s objectives and underscored the significance of ethical practices in business and community-based enterprises. He emphasised that the primary aim of the workshop was to inspire positive changes in business practices by promoting honesty, transparency, and ethical decision-making.
Prof Zarennthung Ezung, Department of Economics, Nagaland University, delivered a session on “Ethical Business Practice among Entrepreneurs and Self Help Groups (SHGs).” He highlighted the role of ethics in sustainable business growth, accountability, and community development, while also stressing the need for environmentally-friendly entrepreneurial practices.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Pitheli K Jimo from the Department of Sociology, Nagaland University.
