Dimapur, June 18 (MExN): A workshop on child oral health was conducted for nurses in Peren Town at the PTWWO Hall on June 14, 2011. Officers from the Health and Family Welfare Department Dr. H Hotokhu Chishi, MDS, Joint Director, Oral Health, Dr. R Lase Vizo, MDS and Dr. N Savino, Additional Director were the resource persons.
Dr. Savino underlined the importance of oral health especially among children between the ages of 0 to11 years. He encouraged the health workers to pass on the message of oral health hygiene to patients and the community. He further highlighted the statistics of dental OPD of the State.
Chief Guest Smita Sarangi IAS encouraged the health workers to be more aware of the problems of oral health, and try to reduce problems related to oral health in the district.
Topics on care of oral tissues, importance of primary dentition, child oral care and brushing techniques were taught and demonstrated during the workshop. A total of 45 nurses attended the workshop.
