Workshop on research methodology culminates

Kohima, March 26 (MExN): The 10-day ICSSR sponsored workshop on Research Methodology for Ph.D. students in Social Sciences organized by the Department of Commerce, Nagaland University has successfully concluded on March 23 at Kohima Campus, Meriema.  

The workshop drew resource persons and participants from different States of India and from Central-State Universities such as Lucknow University, Aligarh Muslim University, Rajiv Gandhi University, Gauhati University and from various departments under Nagaland University (Faculty of Social Sciences).   The valedictory function of the workshop was held on March 23 in the University Kohima Campus with Mijito Vinito Chishi IFS, Second Secretary (Commercial and Information) Embassy of India, Seoul, Republic of Korea, as the Guest of honour. He was accompanied by his lady wife. The Course Director, Dr.Kaurinta, exemplify the workshop as a successful academic exercise which can be best explained in terms of academic input from the resource person and the resultant output in terms of impact on the participants. He expressed the positive feeling that this workshop has fulfilled its major academic objectives. He went on to thanked the Indian Council of Social Science (ICSSR), New Delhi for sponsoring the workshop under special component plan (SCP) and the University authority for providing the much needed fund and for the logistics.   In the valedictory function, Mijito Vinito and his wife gave away the certificate to all the 30 participants pursuing Ph.D. programme in different universities. The participants thanked the organizers for the hospitality and the excellent arrangement of the workshop.   While commenting on the impact of this workshop, the participants showered praises on the Department for conducting efficiently such a crucial workshop. They found the workshop helpful and highly productive. The expert opinions, deliberations and other matters related to organization of the workshop were highly appreciated. Many among them characterized the workshop as “the most memorable academic oriented workshop”. Finally, Dr. Martina Solo, Convener & HoD, congratulated the Course Director, Dr. Kaurinta for successful completion of the workshop. She also thanked Mijito Vinito IFS, Second Secretary (Commercial and Information) Embassy of India, Seoul, Republic of Korea and his lady wife for gracing the valedictory function as guest of honour, Pro-Vice Chancellor, University administration, resource persons, departmental colleagues, research scholars, students and office staff for their help, support and cooperation.
