Dignitaries with participants of workshop under MOVCD-NER Phase 4 at Meluri.

Kohima, June 30 (MExN): A workshop under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for Northeast Region (MOVCD-NER) Phase 4 was recently organized by the Department of Agriculture at the village community hall, Meluri in Phek District.
The program was graced by Albert Ezung, ADC Meluri as the special guest.
Ezung talked on the benefits of "Organic Farming and encouraged the farmers of Meluri to get more into organic farming practices.
Virhovi, member of Board of Directors at Meluri Farmer Producer Company (FPC) invoked God’s blessings while Mhonchumo Lotha, SDAO Meluri delivered welcome address.
The first half of the program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mhonchumo Lotha, SDAO Meluri.
The second half of the program featured Ato Nyekha, Project Associate at The Green Caravan, as the resource person.
He spoke on the "Purpose of Organic Farming, Its Advantages, Business Opportunities, Value Chain Development, and Market Linkage."
This was followed by a training session on the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP), which outlined the institutional framework for the accreditation of certification bodies and the certification of organic products.
The program concluded with a question-and-answer session, allowing participants to address their queries and deepen their understanding of organic farming practices.
