Dimapur, June 14 (MExN): World blood Donors day was observed at IDSP Hall, IMDH Mokokchung on June 14 on the theme ‘Celebrating the Gift of Blood.’ A report from the office of the Chief Medical Officer stated that the programme was chaired by Dr Tsupongchem Sangtam, MO (Blood Bank), where he gave a short report of the Blood bank at IMDH. He encouraged the participants to donate blood stating that, “Every time one donates, blood regenerates.”
Molu (MVBDA) highlighted the significance of the day by sharing about the importance of blood donation and thanked the donors present in the programme for coming forward. Dr Bendangmeren also shared about his life experience as a donor. The programme concluded with Dr Medem MS IMDH Mokokchung, felicitating the regular blood donors.
Meanwhile, 13 personnel including officers of the 78 Bn CRPF Zubza Kohima also donated blood on the occasion of the World Blood Donors Day.
Dr Chesham Rafiuddin Shah, GDMO and Jayanth Prasanna, Assistant Commandant of 78 Bn, CRPF provided all necessary assistance during the blood donation. According to a report from the unit, Ram Chandra, Second-in-Command (HOO) of the 78 Bn also assured the medical department of Nagaland that they are always ready to help the state administration and the Naga people. The Battalion also informed that it organised a plantation drive at New Secretariat, Kohima on June 12 with the Forest Department of Kohima Division.
