World Contraception day observed in Nagaland

Kohima, September 26 (MExN): FPA India Nagaland Branch in collaboration with North East Network (NEN) observed World Contraception day with the women workers of informal sector under the theme, ‘It’s your life, It’s your responsibility’ at Reproductive Health and family planning (RHFPC) Kohima on September 26.
FPA India Nagaland Branch in a press release stated that the purpose of this program is to enhance girls and women knowledge on the importance of family planning, contraceptives method and reproductive health.
Significance of the day was delivered by Dolly Wotsa, Program Associate NEN and modern contraceptives method was explained to the women by Khrieketunuo Kire, Staff nurse FPAI. Besides, Ville Rhetso, Counsellor FPAI empowered the participants with Reproductive health & Menstrual Hygiene management knowledge.
In the process, the resource persons clarified myths and misconception of each contraceptives method henceforth without any hesitation they can choose, adopt and make informed choices of their own reproductive health and that every pregnancy is intentional.
World Contraception Day is observed annually on September 26. The annual worldwide campaign centers on a vision where every pregnancy is wanted. Launched in 2007, WCD’s mission is to improve awareness of contraception and to enable young people to make informed choices on their sexual and reproductive health. World Contraception Day mission is to spread the word and raise awareness about contraception and safe sex. Its aim is to help each new generation of adults make informed decisions until every pregnancy in the world is a planned one.
