Along with the rest of the world, Eco Club of Agape School here in collaboration with Wildlife division Kiphire today commemorated World Forestry Day by conducting quiz, environment talks and screening documentaries on environment with Hemant Bhaskar Kamdi, IFS, as special guest.
Stressing on the importance of environment, the special guest asked the students to preserve environment and also advised the students to plant trees and take care of them so “the environment we live in will be healthier, cleaner and better for all of us to live.”
The special guest also assured the students to provide tree saplings so that they plant trees on World Environment Day. Advising the students, he stated, each student is talented and intelligent and to make it fruitful one should be sincere, disciplined and hardworking.
In his keynote address, P. Achumse, principal of the school acknowledged it was a privilege for the school to have wildlife warden on such a special day. He added that forests support the life of people and it is the source of livelihood for many people and asked the students to take proper care of environment. He also expressed gratitude to the wildlife warden for his presence and interacting with the students.
