Joining the rest of the world, The Musicians Guild in association with Symphony Academy of Music will be observing 10th edition of World Music Day 2025 in Kohima on June 21. It will take place at The Heritage, Old DC Bungalow from 5:00 pm onwards.
Mele Pucho told The Morung Express that the event will be held in collaboration with Life Pro Production, Shiu Lights, San Production, Toso Power line and Mean Machine Pro Lightz. The lineup for the show include; About Us, Powerfaith, Arenchenla Walling & The Band, Galaxies, Sideline, Toshimoa Jamir, Elizabeth Khing and Mezanuo. Kenei Ritse will be the host.
Entry fee to the show has been fixed at Rs 200.
Arenchenla Walling & The Band: Arenchenla Walling and the Band is a group of musicians brought together by a shared love for rock music. Featuring Arenchenla Walling (vocals), Achi Lkr (bass gutter), Bendangmoa Pongen (drums), Sentiyabang Lemtur and Atsung Pongen (guitars), they draw inspiration from bands like Scorpions, Guns N’ Roses, Firehouse.
Elizabeth Khing: Elizabeth Khing is a member of Nagaland Collective, an initiative of TaFMA Nagaland. She has performed in major cities across India including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Guwahati.
Galaxies: Galaxies is an experimental rock fusion band from Nagaland. The band was formed in the year 2022.
Powerfaith: Powerfaith Band is a pioneering gospel rock band from Nagaland, known for blending powerful rock music with faith-based messages. They released their debut album ‘Testify’ in December 2005, with two tacks later featured in the first Indian Gospel Rock album (2006). One of the songs was even aired on the historic U.S.- based gospel radio station White Dove.
Toshimoa Jamir: A guitarist of the band Wishes and Dreams, he was recipient of Northeast Young Achievers Award 2016 and Recipient of Music Awards of Nagaland in 2015 and 2016. Released two guitar instrumental solo album (2015 and 2023).
Mezanuo Ngukha: She is a singer from Kohima. Recently, she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in music.
About Us: About Us is an Indian ‘experimental melodic hard rock band,’ formed in 2019.
The band is from Wokha. It released their first singles “Loaded Love” in 2020.
Sideline: Sideline is a heavy/speed metal band from Mokokchung. The band was formed in 2023.
Kenei Ritse: She holds the title of Miss NorthEast 2023. Ritse was the 1st Runner up at Miss Nagaland 2023 and also Miss Phek 2022.
