World Music Day: Local artistes take centre stage at NEZCC

In tune with World Music Day celebrations across the globe, the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) hosted a vibrant music evening at the Stone Sculpture Garden in Chümoukedima.

Tiameren Aier performing during the World Music Day celebration which was held at the Stone Sculpture Garden, NEZCC, Chümoukedima on June 21.

The event, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India aimed to support and promote local music talents from Nagaland, a state known for its deep-rooted musical heritage and gifted young artistes.

Three local acts—Symphonia Band, Tiameren Aier, and The First Fret Band performed live, drawing an appreciative crowd and showcasing the diversity of music, with performances in Sümi, Ao and Hindi.

With a professional stage setup, the event offered a valuable platform for young musicians to gain exposure and connect with a wider audience. Through such initiatives, NEZCC continues to reinforce its commitment to promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Northeast, using music to unite communities and nurture young musicians.
