Observance of NGO day at Bright Morning Star Children Home Kohima.

Kohima, March 3 (MExN): Along with the rest of the world, IDEAL (IW) Charitable Society also celebrated World NGO Day (February 27) at Bright Morning Star Children Home multi-purpose hall, Perizie colony, Kohima under the theme “ Building a sustainable future: the role of NGO in achieving the development goals (SDGs)”
Alenuo Angami, Superintendent BMSCH, while addressing the gathering as the speaker said, NGO are a driving force for positive change in the world.
She said that NGO are undertaking various initiatives, such as health and well-being, education, zero hunger goal, gender equality, promoting sanitation and clean water and also economic empowerment etc.
NGOs also contribute to sustainable economies by fostering entrepreneurship, supporting local businesses, and providing vocational training. Through their advocacy and efforts, a lot of undeserved areas are brought to notice and bring about positive change around the world. She further said that the IDEAL (IW) Charitable Society, which is spearheaded by Abi Angami has nurtured many children, women and provided apprenticeship for the past eleven years. Bright Morning Star is one of the major works of the Society, which currently shelters children in need of care and protection.
She appreciated all the NGOs for their service to the community. The program was chaired by Neivizoü while special number was presented by the children and staff of BMSCHWorld NGO day is a day to honor and appreciate the important work done by non government organizations.
