Dimapur, May 29 (DIPR/MExN): World No Tabacco Day (WNTD) will be observed in Dimapur on May 31. The function will be held at Salesian College auditorium, Dimapur with Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome (IAS) and Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur, Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Highlights of the programme include keynote address by Dr. C. Tetseo, distribution of certificates, inter college prepared speech competition, and special songs. The programme will be chaired by Fr. Joe, (PNF). Commemorating the day, the District Public Relation Office, Dimapur will also screen anti-tobacco documentaries at strategic locations (City Tower, Marwari Patti) to create awareness amongst the public.
Appeal to schools
Meanwhile, the District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC), Dimapur in a press release has requested all the schools to carry out some activities to commemorate the World No Tobacco Day 2017. Dr. C Tetseo, District Nodal Officer, NTCP in the release expressed happiness that the observation of WNTD is going to be unprecedented as many schools are going to organise events jointly and individually like rally and competitions all over Dimapur district.
He also requested the schools to send activity report to DTCC or WhatsApp the same to tobacco free institutions group.
