The NTCP Zunheboto in collaboration with DNTCZ observed World No Tobacco Day under the theme "protecting children from tobacco industry interference" at Cornerstone Hr Sec School Zunhebotoon on May 31.
ZUNHEBOTO, JUNE 2 (MExN): The National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP), Zunheboto in collaboration with the District No Tobacco Club Zunheboto (DNTCZ) observed World No Tobacco Day under the theme "protecting children from tobacco industry interference" at Cornerstone Hr Sec School Zunhebotoon on May 31 with Deputy Commisioner Rahul Bhanudas Mali as the special guest.
The guest of honour in his speech highlighted that with the state being at the top in consumption of tobacco, education plays an important role in helping the youths to abstain from the harmful substances.
He also stated that the administration is doing their best in every possible way to eradicate the use of tobacco
Dr Tohito H Achumi, the theme speaker, in his speech mentioned the various marketing strategy that lures the masses and encouraged the youths in general to consume tobacco. He further stated the need for the government to take active initiative in the No tobacco drive. The programme was chaired by Dr Rosy Yhome, District Nodal Officer, NTCP Zunheboto. A short speech was delivered by Likivi of IHSS while the vote of thanks was delivered by Tunavi G Assumi.
