The Wokha Forest Division, under the Nagar Van Yojana, organized World Ozone Day at Government Middle School Wokha Town-C on 13th September 2024.

The programme aimed to enhance awareness about the significance of ozone layer conservation and the causes of ozone depletion among 100 participants, including students from Classes 5 to 8, teachers, and staff from the Wokha Forest Division and Wokha DMU. Rajiv Shankar, IFS, ACF, Wokha Division, delivered an informative session on the causes of ozone depletion, stressing the need for collective action to safeguard the ozone layer.

Mhabemo Lotha, M&E Expert, provided a moving speech in the local dialect, underscoring the importance of ozone layer conservation.

The event was chaired by Tumben Odyuo, Community Mobiliser, welcome address from K Nzanmongi Jami, Primary Teacher, vote of thanks by Grace Kikon, Range Forest Officer, Wokha Range, who expressed gratitude to all participants, speakers, and organisers.

The event concluded by motivating students and attendees to actively contribute to protecting the ozone layer and promoting environmental sustainability.
