Nagaland today joined the rest of the country in observing World Photography Day 2021. In the state capital Kohima, a grand function took place at D’Café under the aegis of Team Noksa by showcasing the works of the photographers.

Speaking on the occasion, Limawati Ao, (Retd) director, DIPR, Nagaland stressed on the need to take up photography with seriousness on aspects of professionalism.

He encouraged the photographers to continue to exercise their passion of photography not just for earning but also as a means to promote the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas as well as the beautiful and picturesque landscapes of Nagaland to the rest of the world.

Appreciating the contribution of photographers, Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) adviser Theja Meru informed that the Embassy of Israel expressed its desire to have a photography exhibition in Nagaland.

In this, he said it would be a great opportunity for the photographers of Nagaland to partner with the Embassy of Israel to have a grand photography exhibition in the coming days.

He said that photography formed a vital part of the entertainment industry and encouraged the photographers to work hard and continue to promote the same.

Suchamayang Kichu said that the objective of the event was to bring all photographers of Kohima together to celebrate "The World Photography Day" and also to provide a platform for the photographers to showcase their work and art to the people.

The programme was chaired by Ruopfüzhano Whiso while Shenieta Cürhah presented a special song.
