In view of the World Wetland Day celebration, Doyang Plantation Division and Wokha Forest Division in collaboration with Eco-Warriors Nagaland jointly organised an awareness programme on cleanliness at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Doyang Hydro Project, Wokha on January 31.

During the programme, Rhontsutung L Odyuo, Eco Warriors guided the students in a cleanliness drive and also conducted a ‘Plastic Audit.’ He emphasised on the significance of proper waste management, especially addressing the hazards of plastic to the ecosystem, contributing significantly to environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
During presentation session, Team Member Akhrieno Khamu highlighted importance of Wetland Day and its ecosystems.
Later, a drawing competition was conducted in three categories with the themes “Wetland and Human Wellbeing” for class 3 to 5 and “Wetland Ecosystem” for Class 6 to 9.
The event witnessed participation of 176 individuals including the teachers and the Eco-Warriors Nagaland.
