Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): Accusing the Railway Protection Force of misusing the “faithful authority vested upon them” by harassing or harming innocent citizens, the WRSUN today strongly condemned February 3 incident where on Senenlo Kath was physically assaulted by RPF personnel at the Dimapur Railway Station. The victim, who is in coma, is under Intensive Care Unit at the Gauhati Rahman Hospital.
Condemning the “heinous act,” the Western Rengma Students’ Union of Nagaland (WRSUN) in a press note issued by its president Aga Rengma wondered, “How safe is an innocent citizen if the one entrusted for his welfare and security is the one attempting his life instead?
It also alleged that its “fellow brother” was beaten into coma on his way out after undertaking a fair “compromising talk" in the RPF office with the personnel adding that his head was hit so bad that he had blood clot in the right side part of his brain as per doctor’s report.
WRSUN also questioned the integrity of the concerned authorities who displayed their the “indifferent attitude” by giving bail to the culprit on bail after arresting him based on such “serious case FIR.”
In this connection, the Union extended its full support to the victim and his family in their quest for justice and further endorsed the memorandums submitted to concerned authorities by other organizations.
The WRSUN further demanded the arrest of the culprit at the earliest and provision of “all kinds of assistance to the victim” and medical treatment along with compensation by the RPF authorities.
The Union also wished and prayed for an early and complete recovery of Senenlo Kath.
