WSH appeal state govt to provide ex-gratia to late Hozheto’s family

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 26 (MExN): The Western Sumi Hoho, on behalf of the family and relatives of late Hozheto Yeptho, has demanded an ex-gratia be given by the state government.

“Hozheto Yepthomi, who was murdered on the line of duty on August 24 at ISBT complex Purana Bazaar, Dimapur deserved to be honoured posthumously. Hozheto Yeptho was a very sincere dedicated and diligent government employee who worked wholeheartedly and sacrificed even his life for the service which he was employed. Hozheto Yeptho died bravely while trying to protect the goods confiscated by the Customs department and kept in the trucks which were parked inside the ISBT complex,” a press release issued by WSH president Shikaho Zhimomi and general secretary Vikato Shikhu Achumi read.

Towards this, the WSH has appealed to the state government as well as the department involved to look into the issue at the earliest and understand the plight of the deceased's wife and children while maintaining that “such great sacrifice should not go unnoticed, unrewarded or in vain.”

The WSH also appealed that since late Hozheto Yeptho had still more years to go in the service and gave his life on the line of duty, a family member be put in his stead on a compassionate ground. It further appealed to everyone not to take the incident on tribal lines but an 'unfortunate happening.'
