Dimapur, May 5 (MExN): The 38th general conference of Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) was held at Mughavi village under Aghunaqa area from April 27-29. Aghunaqa Area Students’ Union hosted the conference.
According to the media and publicity convener of the conference, Kakiho Awomi, the speakers of the conference were Hekhushe Shikhu, president, Sumi Hoho; Dr. H Hotokhu Chishi, Joint Director, Health and Family Welfare; Dr. Hesheto Y Chishi, Director, Indigenous Cultural Society Nagaland & Research Expert, UNESCO; Rev. Dr. Khehovi Shohe, Director, Sumi Baptist Convention; and Hukavi T Yeputhomi, member, Sumi Literature Board.
Presidents of Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu, Western Sumi Hoho, Western Sumi Kukami Hoho and Western Sumi Totimi Hoho exhorted the students on different occasions. Various literary and cultural competitions were also held during the course of the conference. More than a thousand student delegates attended the conference.
