WSYF concerned over rising anti-social activities

CHÜMOUKEDIMA, FEBRUARY 28 (MExN): The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) has raised concerns about the increasing presence of anti-social elements within the community, citing incidents of harassment, extortion, and threats.

In a statement, the WSYF condemned illegal practices, including the imposition of unlawful levies and coercion on innocent people, warning that such actions would not be tolerated. The group highlighted the negative impact these activities have on the community, particularly on business operations and the broader economic environment.

The WSYF noted that when businesses and entrepreneurs are unfairly taxed or extorted, the consequences ultimately affect consumers, employees, and the community at large. The organization expressed its determination to protect the peace-loving residents of the area and to ensure a secure and lawful environment for business and daily life.

Acknowledging the efforts of local law enforcement in addressing criminal activities, the WSYF called for enhanced measures to tackle extortion and other illegal activities. The organization urged authorities to strengthen enforcement, improve accountability and take decisive action against those exploiting businesses for personal gain.

The WSYF also urged the government to focus on developing strong legal frameworks and policies that promote ethical business practices and ensure social harmony. The group pledged to offer its full cooperation and assistance to law enforcement and the administration in working toward a peaceful and prosperous society.

For those facing difficulties related to illegal activities, the WSYF has provided two helpline numbers for immediate assistance: 8787733776 and 9654602141. These helplines will be available around the clock for anyone seeking help or wishing to report concerns, the press statement read.
