Dimapur, June 12 (MExN): The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) has strongly condemned the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl, describing the incident as a heinous crime and demanding strict action against all those involved.
In a statement, the organisation said such violence against a child is unacceptable and urged authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and prosecution of the accused without compromise. It called for all persons found involved in the alleged offence to be dealt with under the strictest provisions of the law as a deterrent against similar crimes.
The WSYF also lauded law enforcement agencies for their swift action in apprehending the accused and reaffirming public faith in the justice system.
Expressing solidarity with the survivor and her family, the organisation appealed for the strict implementation of all relevant legal provisions to ensure swift and uncompromising justice, while warning that crimes threatening the safety and dignity of women and children have no place in society.
