DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 26 (MExN): The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) has urged the state government to enforce the order issued on July 8, 2019 for peace to prevail with regard to the land dispute in the Chümoukedima-Peren border.
A press release from the WSYF said that Kiyevi village “comes purely under the western Sumi region permitted by the Britishers, and even the High Court had given a clear judgment order about western Sumi region.”
A press release from the WSYF informed that the Nagaland Government had issued an order on June 25, 2019 for status quo and an eviction order on July 8.
“It's crystal clear the land purely belongs to Kiyevi village, still then why so many criticism and hate on Sumi people. If the land was the traditional ancestors of Zeliang people, why did Besimpuikam village request for shifting order in exchange of land to the government,” it questioned.
Further, the WSYF asked why not blame the government for “having all relevant documents and issuing order after order without enforcing and being silent for so many years.” It added that if the issued orders are not to be implemented then all government agencies should be withdrawn from those areas.
It meanwhile expressed disappointment at the statement of the NSCN (IM) on October 25 that “Ntangki forest is the traditional ancestors land of Zeliang which is totally a false alarming statement.” “If the Nagas want to know the truth, all official documentation with sales deed agreement is in the government office,” it stated.
The WSYF said that the “blunder statement of NSCN/GPRN (IM) is totally against the will of Nagas, it is a common property of Nagas in general and a reserve forest (National park) of the government and not a traditional ancestors land of Zeliang.”
The WSYF asserted that it “will not let any individual or groups forcefully occupy our land, we will take any extreme steps against the encroachers to ensure and defend every inch of the land which is rightfully ours.”
