Dimapur, November 16 (MExN): The Western Tenyimi Hoho on Wednesday expressed concern over the violence that recently occurred in Lamhainamdi village and appealed to all parties to exercise restraint and hash out the differences in a civil way.
In a press release issued through its Media Cell, the WTH condemned the administration for “taking the issue lightly,” pointing out that “the administration had been forewarned before the incident but no positive action was taken.”
“It is regretted that even in the presence of police personals some people resorted to taking law and order in their own will which is highly condemnable. Adequate and competent police personals should be deployed in order to avoid any untoward incidents in the future,” it said.
While appealing to both the parties to maintain peace, the WTH reminded that every Naga has their own traditional boundaries and that must be respected.
“Such unfortunate incidents could have been avoided if the government seriously tries to solve the issue once and for all,” it maintained, urging the government to give due importance to the issue and give justice without any bias at the earliest.
