Wungtung urges for high frequency towers and modernization of IPR

New Delhi, May 4 (MExN): Toshi Wungtung, Advisor for IPR, SCERT & Village Guards, Nagaland called on the Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports (I/C), Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore at his office in Shashtri Bhawan, New Delhi on May 4.  

Wungtung apprised the Union Minister of the activities of the IPR department in the State. Highlighting the problems faced by the State, he requested the Minister to support a special high frequency towers in the interior parts of Nagaland for better connectivity in communication, community radio programme, and FM channel, according to a press release from PRO (IPR), Nagaland House, New Delhi.  

Further, the Advisor appealed Rathore for modernization of IPR department by constructing sub-centres in all the districts of Nagaland which should be linked with directorate office (headquarter), Kohima for live coverage of important events in all parts of the State. Local channel for all the major dialects was also requested.  

According to the release, the Union Minister assured to take up the matters raised by the Advisor and also asked the latter to meet again in regards to modernisation of the State IPR department.
