On the 77th Anniversary, the Molungkimong WWII Memorial Development Committee organised a short programme in remembrance of the 12 US Airmen who lost their lives when their plane, a B-24 Liberator, crashed in the ravines of Molungkimong on August 11, 1944. During the programme, as the stars and stripes swayed in the breeze, a minute silence was observed, which was followed by the singing of the US Anthem. Floral tribute was offered on behalf of the few relatives who attended the programme online.
