WYLA condemns alleged sexual abuse and assault of minor in Phesama

Kohima, May 18 (MExN): The Office of the Western Yimkhiung Liberü Arihako (WYLA) has strongly condemned the alleged sexual abuse, life-threatening attack and physical assault committed against a minor girl and her family members at Phesama village on May 12.

In a condemnation note, the organisation termed the incident a “shameful and inhumane act” and expressed outrage over what it described as a “monstrous and cowardly act” carried out by the perpetrator.

The WYLA stated that the incident was not merely a crime against an individual but “a direct assault on the safety, dignity and collective conscience of the entire society”.

Appealing to law enforcement agencies to take swift action, the organisation urged authorities to proceed against the accused in accordance with the law and ensure justice for the victims.

The organisation also conveyed its support to the victim and her family and assured prayers for their strength and comfort during the difficult period.
